what you’re looking at is not a mirage. what lies before you here is one of the very few hats ERD (specially released under the moniker ‘Electronic Research Development’) made in collaboration with the historical and influential French electronic music duo Daft Punk.
tucked away in a corner of the half-museum/half-retail setup space hosted by Maxfield in Los Angeles during GRAMMY weekend sat two racks and shelves reserved for ERD; lined with a series of t-shirts, leather jackets, pants, patches, and baseball caps — all of which used consisted of obscure and niche graphics that were either referenced or pulled directly from the Daft Punk archive and respectfully documents their history.
certain pieces for this collection were made in larger quantities than others, with these hats being more limited than most. the most produced item in this collaboration was only limited to 25 units, which really puts into perspective just how rare these are. not only is the quality impeccable — from it’s leather and embroidered detailing — but it sits comfortably than standard ERD caps like these.
