BACKSTORY
Unseen by the general public and Yeezy collectors alike, the Yeezy 350 "Ace" sample was created for an early lookbook featuring a scrapped rendition of his now historic Yeezy Season 1 collection. The collection, which stood as the artist formerly known as Kanye West's first commercially available and formally shown body of work, marked his formal entry into fashion as a creator rather than collaborator. Only a matter of weeks after its creation, this rendition of the Yeezy Season 1 collection was mysteriously scrapped, only surviving on through leaked screenshots. With a vast majority of Ye's fanbase still unfamiliar with this iteration of the collection, no formal reasoning was offered as to why it the lookbook was cancelled. Rumors around the industry suggest that the choice was made due to circumstances surrounding the shoot's lead model, which drew apprehension from the team due to its potential to draw a controversial media spectacle which would potentially overshadow the landmark event that was Ye's first formal collection at the helm of YEEZY.
