BACKSTORY
On the eve of the release of his critically acclaimed record The Life of Pablo, the artist formerly known as Kanye West assembled leading creatives from various artistic mediums to aid in the creation of what was arguably his strongest fashion and musical releases to date. Equal parts runway showing and album release celebration, the now-iconic event saw an eclectic assembly of Ye's design inspirations, offering fans years worth of moodboard content. Featured in the collection were various pieces of sample footwear and clothing, but none were perhaps more controversial and polarizing than the Season 3 Duckboot. As one of the centerpieces of his pivotal Yeezy Season 3 collection, the boots unfortunately never saw a formal release, leaving them to be highly coveted by fans and collectors to this day. As an Adidas factory sample, these were stored in the archives until November 2022, right as the contract between the two brands dissolved.
CONDITION
Extremely minor flaws throughout from test-wear by models after production and the runway show; otherwise unworn and structurally sound.
PROVENANCE
A groundbreaking silhouette and experimental take in its own right, this pair of boots made their debut in late 2016 at the iconic Yeezy Season 3 show in Madison Square Garden, during one of Ye’s most significant periods as an artist and designer. Items were then sold to collector in 2021 before their eventual arrival at the Low Place Like Home archives in 2022.
