back when reading books was normal, fictional romantic/drama stories about the atrocities of war was a particularly popular genre for some unknown reason.
‘The Lost Frälein’ was published in 1971 and follows the story of John Allison, a munitions dealer who finds himself contributing to a West African revolution which spirals into him being forced by the U.S. government to also supply weapons to the opponent: an Italian dictator.
The dictator’s misstress, suicidal and impulsive, then becomes romantically involved with Allison creating for an unusual and suspenseful novel.
obscure to say the least.
and the plot is controversial enough in its own right.
a perfect blend for a brand like E.R.D.
this graphic first previewed in the brand’s fall 2020 campaign on a longsleeve tee, and it quickly became a fan favorite. as expected, the tee sold out insanely quickly.
to this day, it’s hard to find one.
but somehow most people missed the hoodie when it was released.
i can’t even recall the last time i’ve seen one appear on the secondhand market. definitely more comfortable (thanks to its three fleece cotton composition) and perfect for lounging in.
rarer than most realize, this piece is an absolute diamond. good luck ever finding another.
